Green Earl Grey
Flower Scented and Blended Green Teas

Blend: The Tao of Tea

Plucking Season: Spring

Introduction: Earl Grey is probably the most well known scented tea in the West. Its popularity parallels that of Jasmine tea in China, and Chai in India. This is a hand crafted blend of Ceylon green tea and Organic Bergamot Essence.

High Grade Organic Green
Although, there are several types of green teas, we choose only the select grade that balances well with the flavor of Bergamot.

Calabria Bergamot
Reggio di Calabria in Southern Italy is the native growing area for 'Citrus Bergamia' Bergamot.
Its arrival in Calabria is shrouded in mystery and, even though it grows elsewhere, only in this area does it give us the essential oil popularly used to make Earl Grey tea. The oil is also widely used for aromatherapy treatments and is known to have calming properties.

Small Batch Blending
We use a small batch process to blend the steam distilled Bergamot essential oil and organic green tea. This helps maintain an even flavor profile, often ignored by large mechanical processes.

Pairing
Green Earl Grey pairs especially well with breakfast breads, rice desserts, vanilla ice cream and slightly spicy foods.

Flavor Profile: Very aromatic, clear, smooth, and sweet flavor.

Ingredients: Organic Green Tea Leaves, Natural Bergamot Essence

For brewing green teas, we recommend using slightly cooler water. If the water is too hot, the leaf will “stew”, creating a bitter, “spinachy” cup. Moderately hot water, 160 to 180 F, with one loose teaspoon of leaf per cup (two for larger, lighter leaf) and a steeping time of 2 to 3 minutes provides 2 to 3 satisfying infusions.
