Mirik

Mirik is a picturesque tourist spot nestled in the serene hills of Darjeeling district in West Bengal, India.The name Mirik comes from the Lepcha words Mir-Yok meaning "place burnt by fire".

Mirik has a number of tea gardens that have the 'China Jaat' varietal. This varietal is highly sought after by many tea merchants. It differs than the big leaf Camellia Assamica varietal by being more flowery in aroma. The area is also in close proximity to Nepal.
