Inspiring New Traditions
There has been more cross-pollination of tea cultures taking place in the last five years than in the last five centuries. Tea people are traveling more and communication around the world is now much easier. Tea processing styles are becoming more universally known and no longer is there abundant secrecy. Japanese style green teas are now also produced in China, Taiwan oolong-making techniques applied in India, and Sri Lankan black tea styles crafted in Vietnam. Our work has inspired many growers to attempt new styles of tea processing. The results in many cases have been delightfully unique and flavorful.
